The Poodle-Loo is absolutely the best product of its kind on the market. Still, we want you to make an informed purchase. We've gathered the most frequently asked questions below to help you, and we invite you to review them. If you have a question we have not answered, please contact the makers of the Poodle-Loo to receive a prompt response.

Frequently Asked Questions

1) Doesn't dog urine kill the grass?

In large quantities, dog urine can kill grass. The amount that a small dog (less than 20-30 pounds) produces will not kill the grass.

2) I live in a high-rise condo and the wind sometimes blows pretty hard. Will the wind damage my Poodle-Loo?

With the soil and the sod in the unit, Poodle-Loo weighs approximately 80 pounds. Except in hurricane-force winds, it is unlikely that the Poodle-Loo will be damaged or blown off your balcony by wind.

3) Does the grass die in the winter?

No. Grass becomes dormant in winter, but it is still alive and will come back green as the weather warms again.

4) What if the grass does die?

Remove the top layer of sod and recycle. Replacement sod can be purchased from your local lawn and garden center for less than $10.

5) What if my pet won't use his or her new Poodle-Loo?

Sod is sterile prior to the pet "marking" it. Place your pet on the Poodle-Loo and let him or her sniff around it for a while. They will instinctively mark their own territory.

6) What if I have more than one dog?

Dogs that live together will typically both use the Poodle-Loo because they are used to each other's scent.

7) Is this live, growing grass?

Yes! You must water it and cut it as you would any lawn. This is very important if the grass is to thrive. You can use simple grass shears to trim the grass, and it will take no more time than you would spend caring for a small garden. The beauty of the Poodle-Loo and its practicality for your pet will far outweigh the minimal time it takes to care for the grass.

8) What can I do to make it blend into my decor?

Potted flowers in the corners of the tray and ivy at the uprights are two very easy ideas to implement. One customer made her Poodle-Loo into a small memorial garden, complete with headstone!

9) Can the Poodle-Loo be brought inside?

The Poodle-Loo is an outdoor pet convenience. It is designed to absorb pet urine naturally through water, sun, and open air. There are some other products on the market that claim to be equally effective indoors and out, but if they take advantage of the benefits of real grass, outdoor use is the only realistic application.

10) Being outside, might the unit rot and fall apart?

No. The Poodle-Loo is made mostly of PVC and non-corrosive hardware. Units have been in use continuously for over 8 years.
